The tools on yootils are free, provided as is, and are not financial, legal, medical or tax advice. This page sets out what that means in practice, including what you may and may not do with the Site, how the embeddable widgets may be used, and the limits of our liability.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using yootils ("the Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Nature of the service

yootils provides free online calculators, converters, and reference tools for informational and educational purposes. The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind.

3. No professional advice

The results produced by tools on this Site are for general informational purposes only and do not constitute professional advice of any kind, including but not limited to:

  • Financial or investment advice
  • Legal or tax advice
  • Medical or health advice

Always consult a qualified professional before making decisions based on calculator outputs. Results may be estimates and could differ from figures provided by financial institutions, medical practitioners, or other professionals.

4. Accuracy

We strive to ensure our tools produce accurate results, but we make no guarantee of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. Exchange rates, tax rates, and similar figures change frequently and may not be up to date.

5. Intellectual property

All content on this Site, including but not limited to text, code, design, and graphics, is the property of yootils or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

Embeddable widgets. We grant you a non-exclusive, revocable, royalty-free licence to embed our calculator widgets on your website, including for commercial purposes, provided that the attribution link and “powered by yootils” credit rendered by the widget remain visible and unmodified. Removing, obscuring, or suppressing that attribution — whether by code, styling, or any other means — terminates this licence. We may revoke the licence at any time.

6. Acceptable use

Use the Site for your own purposes, personal or business, as much as you like. There is no quota and we are not trying to make ordinary use difficult. What we ask you not to do:

  • Use automated means to scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the Site or its data files — search-engine crawling that respects our robots.txt excepted.
  • Redistribute our word lists or other data files as a dataset of their own.
  • Interfere with the operation or security of the Site, or try to.
  • Remove or obscure the attribution required by the widget licence in section 5.

The word lists are the reason this section exists rather than being boilerplate: they are large files that cost real bandwidth to serve, and they are there so the word tools work in your browser, not as a download.

7. Limitation of liability

What we never exclude. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. A term that tried to would not be binding on you in any case, and we would rather say so than leave you to find out.

Everything else. Subject to the paragraph above, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, yootils shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its tools — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Links to third-party sites

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. These links are provided for convenience only. We have no control over the content of those sites and accept no responsibility for them.

9. Changes to the Site or terms

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms at any time; continued use of the Site after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

So that you can tell when that has happened: the last updated date at the top of this page is taken from the change history of the page itself rather than typed by hand, so it cannot fall behind the words underneath it. Where a change materially affects your rights, we will also announce it on What’s New.

10. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision is severed and the remaining provisions continue in full force. A single clause failing does not take the rest of the agreement with it.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, and nothing in these Terms affects that right. Otherwise, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
